I’m a business writer for CBS MoneyWatch, the business section of CBS News, and I also am a freelance writer and editor. My work has appeared in publications including MSN Money, AOL’s Daily Finance, The Boston Globe, Vermont Quarterly magazine and Seven Days. Prior to freelancing, I worked at Bloomberg News for nine years, where I covered media and advertising as a staff writer and contributed to Bloomberg Markets magazine. Before joining Bloomberg, I worked at Institutional Investor, where I served as managing editor of a publication covering hedge funds and private banking. I also edited Institutional Investor’s book “Cultivating the Affluent II” from Russ Alan Prince, the co-author of “The Middle-Class Millionaire.”
Since moving to Burlington, Vermont (home of Phish and Ben & Jerry’s), I’ve become a Nordic skiing aficionado, learned how to compost and even attended a contra dance or two. In my pre-writing life, I was a conservatory-trained violist, graduating from Juilliard pre-college and the Eastman School of Music. And yes, I enjoy a good viola joke.
